Insa Survey Finds 41% of Germans Question Coalition’s 2029 Survival; 52% Anticipate Tax Hikes

According to a survey by the opinion‑research institute Insa, almost half of German citizens expect an early end to the federal government. Forty‑one percent say the black‑red coalition will not survive until the regular election scheduled for spring 2029, while 38 percent expect the government to remain in power, and 18 percent have no opinion, as reported by Bild on Thursday. Fifty‑two percent of respondents believe the federal government will more likely raise taxes this year, whereas only 13 percent anticipate tax cuts. Insa conducted the survey from March 20 to 23 among 1,005 eligible voters.
