Iran Spy Sentenced to 18 Months in Hamburg for Planning Attacks in Germany

The Hamburg Regional Court has sentenced an alleged Iranian spy to eight and a half years in prison for planning attacks. The court also handed down a sentence of four and a half years to an accomplice, as announced Thursday. The court’s decision aligns with the demands of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office. The primary defendant was accused of planning and preparing arson and murder attacks in Germany as an agent of the Iranian regime. The alleged targets included Volker Beck, president of the German-Israeli Society, and Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews. Both men were arrested last year, following intelligence provided by the Danish security services.
