Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned the United States of a possible ground invasion. He said he threatened to “set US troops on fire” and to intensify attacks on American allies. Iranian forces allegedly waited for the arrival of US troops so they could punish them and “permanently hit” their regional partners.
Ghalibaf added that Iranian missiles are ready and dismissed the United States’ 15‑point plan, which Pakistan had transmitted to Iran last week, as wishful thinking. He claimed the Trump administration sought to achieve what it could not with force through that plan. According to him, as long as Americans pursue Iran’s capitulation, the response will be clear: it will not be accepted.
Earlier U.S. media reports suggested the Pentagon had been developing plans for a potential ground offensive for weeks, though it remains unclear whether President Donald Trump would approve such plans.
