Israel Announces Daily Combat Pauses in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a series of temporary pauses in military operations within densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip, intended to facilitate increased humanitarian aid delivery. These “local tactical pauses” will be implemented daily between 10:00 AM and 20:00 PM (6:00 PM) local time, initially in the areas of Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City – locations where the IDF reports no current operations. The pauses are described as being in effect “until further notice.

According to the IDF, the decision was made in coordination with the United Nations and other international organizations. Alongside the tactical pauses, the military will also establish designated “safe routes” operational continuously between 6:00 AM and 23:00 PM (11:00 PM) to ensure the safe passage of United Nations and humanitarian organization convoys transporting food and medicine throughout Gaza.

Following the announcement, Egyptian sources reported that dozens of trucks carrying aid were observed heading towards Southern Gaza on Sunday. The move is aimed at broadening access to vital resources for the civilian population within the Gazan Strip.
