Israel has rejected the 15-point plan proposed by the “Peace Council” appointed by US President Donald Trump for the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced during the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday that the country would not accept the document.
The plan calls for the deployment of an international stabilization force into Gaza to take control and disarm Hamas. Netanyahu emphasized that the Israeli armed forces would not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely disarmed. He stressed that this disarmament must be genuine, not merely symbolic, and must include both heavy and light weaponry.
Netanyahu stated that Israel is currently discussing its reservations with the United States, conceding that some proposals are acceptable while others are not. Furthermore, he affirmed that the Israeli military would continue to “defend” against threats directed at Israel and its citizens.
