Israeli ambassador Ron Prosor warned that Iran could launch terror attacks on Europe using so‑called sleeper cells. “The mullahs keep showing that they intend to spread terror worldwide” he told the German news network RND.
Prosor said Israel has paid a high price for downplaying what he calls a “deadly ideology”. He urged Europe to learn from that mistake. “Who sets fire to synagogues today will set churches ablaze tomorrow” he added, noting that terror attacks are increasingly likely. He cited sleeper‑cell operations in Europe as a potential threat.
He defended the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran and criticized Europe’s earlier lack of involvement. “We rarely disclose our military plans. Only under the strictest secrecy could the beheading strike against Iranian leadership succeed” Prosor remarked. He described 47 years of European hesitation, constantly offering excuses for not taking action against Tehran. “We didn’t have that luxury; we had to eliminate the nuclear threat” he stressed. He warned that Iran now possesses rockets and drones capable of reaching European territory.
Prosor also opposed the proposal of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to annex southern Lebanon, stating that such a move is not the Israeli government’s intention. “We will push forward and remain as long as needed until the bombardment of Israel ends and our residents are safe. A permanent occupation is not planned. Period”.
