Kennedy’s Claims of Persecution Spark Accusations of Political Interference

German Green Party lawmaker Janosch Dahmen has fiercely dismissed allegations made by US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. concerning the purported criminal prosecution of doctors and patients in Germany. Dahmen, the Green Party’s spokesperson for health policy in the Bundestag, characterized Kennedy’s claims as a deliberate act of political destabilization, not a genuine assessment of the situation.

Speaking to the Handelsblatt newspaper, Dahmen argued that the accusations represent “not a coincidence, but part of a political culture war intentionally being exported to Europe by elements of the American right wing”. He asserted that the underlying objective is to undermine liberal democracies, erode public trust in state institutions and evidence-based medicine and ultimately weaken Europe. Dahmen stressed the need to consider these pronouncements not as eccentric individual musings, but as “a conscious political attack within the information space.

The Green politician suggested a calculated strategy is at play, with Kennedy’s narrative serving to bolster anti-constitutional forces in Europe and exacerbate societal divisions stemming from the pandemic response. He highlighted the critical importance of the legality and scrutiny afforded to German institutions, remarking that the country’s pandemic policies were “successfully implemented within a framework of constitutional oversight.

Dahmen unequivocally refuted the substance of Kennedy’s assertions, stating that any legal proceedings have been limited to cases of clear legal violations, such as forged medical certificates or deliberate fraud. He emphasized that these instances have been rigorously vetted by independent courts through legally sound processes. The claims, he suggested, represent a dangerous erosion of trust in established systems and a strategic attempt to sow discord within European societies.
