KKR Co-Founder Signals Increased Investment in Germany
Henry Kravis, one of the founding partners of global investment firm KKR, has indicated a significant expansion of the company’s investment activities within Germany. In remarks published Wednesday by the Handelsblatt, Kravis highlighted the nation’s substantial potential for growth and opportunity.
He expressed surprise at the German government’s recent ability to secure a commitment of one trillion euros – allocated in equal measure to infrastructure development and defense spending. Kravis characterized this level of investment as “nearly incredible” compared to historical trends, noting the resulting enthusiasm amongst investors.
Responding directly to inquiries regarding KKR’s future investment plans, Kravis confirmed the company’s intention to increase its engagement in the German market. He specifically identified sectors of particular interest, including businesses focused on the energy transition, digital infrastructure development and industrial automation, alongside opportunities within the defense industry. The firm will be actively exploring and pursuing ventures within these strategic areas.
