Kreosche Rules Out Exit Rumors, Cites Contract and Club Vision While Urging a Revival of German Youth Development

Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director, has dismissed rumors that he is planning to leave the club.
“I have a contract; everything else is irrelevant” Krösche told “Spiegel”. “We must stick to the facts: we have an exciting team, I feel at home here. I do not want to comment on every speculation”.

Krösche joined Frankfurt in 2022 and has overseen a period that included the team’s qualification for the Champions League. His most high‑profile transfer deals have attracted industry attention: the sales of three Eintracht forwards-Randal Kolo Muani to PSG for €95 million, Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for €75 million, and Hugo Ekitiké to Liverpool for €95 million-have all been significant.

In recent weeks, after criticism from board chief Axel Hellmann, rumors circulated that Krösche intended to depart. “It is normal to question things from time to time” he said. The club has still fallen short of expectations in the current Bundesliga season, and in January the manager, Dino Toppmöller, was forced to leave.

Krösche also voices concerns about the state of German youth development. “We have put the wrong priorities on for ten years” he explained. As a result, there are virtually no quality fullbacks, centre‑backs, wingers or strikers competing at international elite level, and he even notes problems with goalkeepers. He calls for a fundamental shift in German football, blaming clubs for neglecting proper training and allowing this deterioration to go unchecked.
