German diesel prices have fallen to their lowest level in over two months, offering some relief to consumers. The national average price for a liter of diesel now stands at 1.583 euros, a decrease of 2.2 cents compared to the previous week, according to an analysis published Wednesday by the German Automobile Club (ADAC). Meanwhile, the price of Super E10 gasoline has decreased slightly, falling by 0.5 cents to an average of 1.663 euros per liter.
The ADAC attributes the decline in fuel prices to several factors, including lower crude oil quotations. Brent crude oil currently costs 66 US dollars per barrel, approximately two dollars less than the previous week. Additionally, the strengthening of the Euro against the US dollar is contributing to the easing of fuel costs.
The price difference between Super E10 and diesel is currently eight cents per liter, a wider gap than seen in recent weeks. Two months ago, when diesel prices were at a similar level and crude oil prices were comparable to present values, diesel was approximately 12 cents cheaper than Super E10.
