Leipzig Clinch 2-1 Victory Over HSV With Late Surge.

RB Leipzig secured a 2-1 victory in the final moments of the 24th Bundesliga matchday against Hamburger SV. The match opened with an early advantage for the hosts – Fabio Vieira converted a mistake by Leipzig’s Lukeba, routing the ball past goalkeeper Vandevoort by threading it between his legs. Leipzig, however, remained unfazed and levelled in the 36th minute when Romulo capitalised on a diagonal pass from Lukeba combined with a header from Baku, curling a left‑footed shot into the net.

In the second half Leipzig shifted the momentum decisively. While the HSV side lost possession during a buildup, Yan Diomande stepped forward and sealed the win in the 50th minute. Romulo set him up with a precise pass, and from close range Diomande sent a left‑corner shot past the goalkeeper. Although HSV pressed for another goal, Leipzig’s defense held firm, preventing any further scoring.

Even after a penalty saved by HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes against Romulo, the German club could not salvage a draw. The win gives Leipzig valuable points in their push for European qualification, while HSV must regroup after another setback.
