Ludwigsburg: Murder Charges Filed in Deadly Street Race

Following a suspected illegal street race that resulted in two fatalities in Ludwigsburg, prosecutors have filed charges of murder and attempted murder. The announcement, made Tuesday by the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office, marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred in March 2025, claiming the lives of two women, aged 23 and 22, who were occupants of a passenger vehicle. Charges are being brought against two brothers, aged 32 and 35, both of Turkish descent and their 25-year-old cousin. Authorities allege that the three men participated in a prohibited race, culminating in a collision between a vehicle driven by the 32-year-old and the women’s car. Tragically, both women died at the scene.

The prosecution has accused the 32-year-old with murder in connection with the deaths of the two women, alleging it occurred in a single, continuous act. The 35-year-old brother faces charges including attempted murder. The 25-year-old cousin is accused of participating in the illegal street race prior to the fatal collision, as well as for providing assistance in a subsequent, related illegal race, a charge compounded by allegations of negligent manslaughter causing the deaths of the two women.

All three defendants remain in custody while the Stuttgart Regional Court prepares to decide whether to formally open the main trial proceedings and schedule the initial hearing dates. The court’s decision will be a critical step in the judicial process.
