Chancellor Merz reportedly advocated for the development of a sustainable post-conflict order for Gaza, one that adequately addresses Israel’s security concerns while simultaneously respecting the Palestinian right to self-determination.
The German Chancellor further conveyed his hope for a swift ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He reiterated the demand for the immediate release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas, including those with German citizenship. An eventual disarmament of Hamas, he stated, is considered essential.
