Despite a somewhat turbulent beginning, including a red card during his 2005 debut, Messi achieved numerous milestones. These successes include winning the 2021 Copa America and securing the World Cup title in Qatar in 2022. His retirement follows the loss in the 2022 World Cup final against Spain, which served as his last match for the Albiceleste.
Messi shared that he will now shift focus to supporting the national team as a fan from the sidelines.
