The Kremlin has released further details regarding the scheduled meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Multiple Russian media outlets report the summit is anticipated to commence at approximately 11:30 AM local time (3:30 PM GMT) on Friday.
The Russian delegation accompanying President Putin has also been announced. In addition to the President himself, the group includes Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Kirill Dmitriev, the President’s Special Envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.
According to reports, the negotiations will be conducted with five members from each delegation, supported by on-site “expert groups”. The primary focus of the discussions is expected to be the conflict in Ukraine. Current plans indicate a joint press conference between Presidents Putin and Trump following the completion of the talks.
