Piastri’s Early Exit

Max Verstappen secured victory at the Formula 1 race in Azerbaijan, demonstrating continued dominance on the track. George Russell of Mercedes finished in second place, with Carlos Sainz rounding out the podium in third.

This marks the second consecutive win for the reigning champion, further solidifying his position. While the ongoing World Championship battle sees Verstappen comfortably ahead, the race’s outcome provided a boost for Lando Norris of McLaren. Benefiting from an early retirement of his teammate, Oscar Piastri, Norris gained valuable points, narrowing the gap in the driver standings.

Behind the leading trio, Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) and Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) secured fourth and fifth place, respectively. Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull), Norris and Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) followed, completing the top ten. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) contributed two points for his team’s tally with a ninth-place finish, while Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) earned a single point in tenth. German driver Nico Hülkenberg (Sauber) concluded the race in 16th position.

The next race is scheduled to take place in two weeks in Singapore.
