Planned Attack Foiled in Bavaria Amid Security Concerns and Russian Links

A planned attack in Bavaria has apparently been thwarted. According to reporting by the newspaper “Die Welt”, this information was reportedly disclosed by Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) during the Hamburg Interior Minister Conference.

The case was recently placed on the agenda of the newly formed Joint Defense Center (GAZ) Hybrid on Tuesday. This center includes representatives from several key agencies, including the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the Federal Criminal Police Office, and the Federal Police. Security sources have indicated that there were initial hints suggesting involvement from “Russian services,” although specific details regarding the target and the motivation for the attack remain unknown.

When contacted about the incident, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior in Munich declined to comment. Instead, a spokesperson for the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office advised inquiries to be directed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Munich, specifically the Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism (ZET).
