Shock Return Shakes Bochum

VfL Bochum has announced the signing of experienced defender Kevin Vogt, marking a return to the club where his professional career began. The 33-year-old has penned a contract extending until June 30, 2027, as confirmed by the second-division club on Monday.

Vogt initially joined VfL Bochum’s youth academy in 2004 and made his Bundesliga debut in 2009. Following a distinguished career featuring spells at Augsburg, Cologne, Hoffenheim, Bremen and most recently Union Berlin, the Wittener native is returning to Castroper Straße.

The club anticipates that Vogt’s arrival will represent a significant upgrade in quality for the squad. Standing at 6’4″, Vogt is expected to contribute significantly to the team’s stability through his wealth of experience. To date, he boasts 353 Bundesliga appearances, during which he has scored four goals.

“It’s something special to be returning to Bochum” Vogt stated.
