Earlier the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Spahn expressed his understanding for Trump’s moves toward Greenland. “If you look at Greenland’s position on the global stage, the questions raised by the United States are, in fact, understandable” he said. “The goal is to protect Greenland from other powers such as Russia. And yes, Donald Trump made a point”. Spahn also warned that Europe could face serious repercussions if Trump’s annexation plans proceed.
