Speaking to the “Rheinische Post” on Monday, he stated that President Donald Trump’s erratic conduct regarding the situation in Iran-including announcements, threats, ultimatums, insults, unpredictable shifts, and now a potential blockade in the Strait of Hormuz-is causing widespread fear not only in the region but globally. Furthermore, he noted that this unpredictable behavior is destabilizing international markets and fails to convey a clear objective or strategy for the conflict, leaving unanswered questions about how or when it might conclude. Stegner added that the resulting chaos is taking on increasingly dangerous forms.
