The SPD has leveled severe accusations against the top management of mineral oil companies, arguing that the government’s new fuel discount is apparently not fully benefiting motorists. According to Fraktionsvize Esra Limbacher, speaking to the “Rheinische Post” on Monday, these corporate executives seem convinced they can act without restraint. Limbacher emphasized that tax relief should be directed towards drivers and families, not used as an opportunity for multi-billion-dollar corporations to increase their fortunes.
The spokesperson for the conservative constituency in the SPD warned that this situation is unacceptable. “We cannot stand for this,” Limbacher stated. “Currently, a few people are enriching themselves at the expense of millions. This must stop.”
