VfB Stuttgart announced on Friday the extension of midfielder Nikolas Nartey’s contract. The new agreement, which secures the services of the 26-year-old, is set to run until June 30, 2028.
Since joining the club, Nartey has established himself with the team. During the current season, he featured in 37 professional matches, contributing both three goals and four assists. His career journey started in 2019 when the Cologne-born player moved to VfB from 1. FC Köln, a path that included loan spells at Hansa Rostock and SV Sandhausen. Furthermore, he celebrated his debut for the Danish national team in March 2026.
Sporting Director Fabian Wohlgemuth praised the player’s perseverance, acknowledging that Nartey has overcome several setbacks due to injuries. Nartey himself expressed delight over the contract extension, specifically highlighting the unwavering support of the fan base. He also pointed to the successful capture of the DFB Cup in 2025 as one of his greatest achievements with VfB.
