A serious traffic accident involving five vehicles has resulted in three fatalities on the B189 federal highway in Brandenburg, between Perleberg and Weisen. Police in the Prignitz district confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:15 PM.
The collision involved two trucks, a motorcycle and two passenger cars. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The B189 was completely closed following the incident due to significant road contamination. DEKRA, commissioned by the Neuruppin public prosecutor’s office, is preparing a forensic accident report. All five vehicles involved were rendered inoperable and required extensive recovery operations.
Police investigations into the precise circumstances of the crash are ongoing. The federal highway remained closed on Sunday as cleanup efforts continued.
