Addressing the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump stated that the United States is performing better than ever and that the future is “very promising.” He cited declining crime and unemployment rates, declaring that the US now maintains “the safest border in its history.”
Furthermore, Trump predicted that the US would reach an agreement with Iran following the midterms to halt the conflict. He claimed to be facing a “major decision,” posing the question of whether he should “make a deal with Iran or quickly destroy the Islamic Republic.”
Trump has repeatedly announced his intention to secure peace agreements with Iran in the past. However, the President faces intense domestic pressure due to the recent US-Israeli attack on Iran and the subsequent regional escalation, which has resulted in a significant surge in energy prices.
