Trump Urges Iran to Halt Nuclear Ambitions, Warns of Possible Military Strike if It Persists.

In his first address on the nation’s situation during his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump urged the Iranian regime to abandon plans to build nuclear weapons. “I prefer to solve this problem diplomatically, but one thing is certain: I will never allow the world’s biggest backer of terror-far beyond that-to possess nuclear weapons” he said. “I cannot allow that”.

The United States and Iran are engaged in indirect talks. Trump suggested he might order military strikes against Iran if the country does not curb its nuclear program, and a large fleet of U.S. naval forces has already been dispatched to the Middle East. However, the outcome of any such strike remains uncertain.

While Trump did not explicitly confirm whether he intends to carry out attacks, he praised U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities the previous summer. He claimed that Iranian officials are once again pursuing their “dark ambitions” and stated, “We destroyed them, and they want to start again”. Trump signaled that he expects Iran to provide a clear commitment not to build nuclear weapons.
