Two Arrested After Sabotage Attempts on German Navy Ships in Hamburg.

Security authorities arrested two suspects following attempted sabotage of German naval ships in the Port of Hamburg, the General Prosecutor’s Office announced on Tuesday. The incidents reportedly occurred in both Hamburg and Greece.

According to a Bild report, one of the arrested men is Romanian and the other Greek. While working at the Hamburg port in 2025, they allegedly tampered with several navy‑designated vessels situated on a shipyard site. The men are said to have poured more than 20 kilograms of “Strahlkies” into a ship’s engine block, punctured freshwater supply lines, removed fuel‑tank covers, and deactivated circuit breakers on the ships’ electronics.

The wider motives behind the attacks remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing. At this time no information has been provided about potential clients or sponsors.
