Two Men Charged in Germany for Alleged Membership in Islamic State (IS) Two Men Charged in Germany for Alleged Membership in Islamic State (IS)

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office charged two suspected members of the foreign terrorist organization “Islamic State” before the State Protection Senate of the Düsseldorf Regional Court on May 6th. The Attorney General announced this on Tuesday. The two Iraqis are accused of having been members of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) in Iraq during 2016 and 2017. One of the men is alleged to have been active in an IS Sharia committee, while the other is said to have functioned as a fighter. The suspects were arrested on December 2, 2025, and have been held in custody since then. Investigators also raided the premises of these two individuals, along with three other persons of interest, in several German cities.
