Ukraine-Russia Talks Rescheduled for Wednesday in Turkey

Another round of direct peace talks between Ukraine and Russia is scheduled for Wednesday in Turkey. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the development on Monday, citing the remarks of the Head of the Ukrainian Security and Defence Council, Rustem Umerov.

Zelenskyy further stated that he had discussed with Umerov preparations for a prisoner exchange and a subsequent meeting with the Russian side in Turkey.

Umerov, currently serving as Secretary of the Ukrainian Security and Defence Council, previously led the initial two rounds of talks with Russia in May and June. However, those discussions did not result in significant progress towards a ceasefire. Additional details concerning the planned meetings are expected to be released on Tuesday.
