Ukraine Woman Denied Entry Sparks Border Row

According to information obtained by “Focus” magazine through a formal inquiry to the Munich Administrative Court, a Ukrainian citizen was initially denied entry at the German-Austrian border. The incident occurred on June 2025 when the individual attempted to cross at Freilassing but was turned away by border police.

Following the denial, the Ukrainian citizen filed an urgent injunction lawsuit at the Munich Administrative Court on June 1925.

The court has since confirmed that the Munich Federal Police Directorate, in a decision dated July 2025, has retracted the initial refusal of entry.

The case raises concerns given the unique status of Ukrainian citizens, who are not required to undergo asylum procedures and benefit from protection within the European Union. While the immediate decision to deny entry has been reversed, the circumstances surrounding the initial refusal are subject to review.
