The national mood survey carried out by the Insa research institute shows that the Union-the combined support for the CDU and CSU-is again pulling ahead of the AfD. In the weekly Sunday trend compiled for “Bild am Sonntag”, the Union gains a percentage point, bringing it to 26 % of respondents and keeping it as the strongest force.
The AfD lags just behind with an unchanged 25 %. The other parties hold steady at their previous numbers: the SPD at 15 %, the Greens at 12 %, and the Left at 11 %. The BSW and FDP both fall below the threshold needed for parliamentary representation, each garnering only 3 %. The remaining parties together account for 5 % (a decline of 1 %).
The poll surveyed 1,205 people between 16 and 20 March 2026 (TOM). Respondents were asked: “If the upcoming Sunday were a parliamentary election, how would you vote?”
