Union Ties with AfD at 26% in Insa’s Sunday Trend; SPD Climbs to 16%

According to the latest Insa poll, the Union has caught up with the AfD in voter favour. In the current “Sunday Trend” compiled weekly by the polling institute for the “Bild am Sonntag”, the CDU/CSU and the far‑right AfD are tied for the first time since September 13. If the federal election were held next Sunday, each would receive about 26 % of the vote. While the AfD’s support has remained unchanged for weeks, the Union gained one percentage point.

The SPD also fares well in this survey. With 16 % of support-an increase of one percentage point-it matches its strongest level since the end of June 2025. The FDP is the only party to lose ground; its share fell from 4 % to 3 %, moving further away from the 5 % threshold.

All other parties maintained their previous figures. The Greens sit at 11 %, the Left at 10 %, and the BSW remains at 4 %, also falling short of the 5 % hurdle. Other parties gather 4 %, down by one percentage point.

The “Sunday Trend” was based on responses from 1,204 people surveyed by Insa between 26 and 30 January 2026.
