The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that three of its own F‑15E Strike Eagle fighter jets crashed over Kuwait. The Pentagon said the cause was a friendly‑fire incident, reporting the crash on Monday.
The incident happened amid active combat operations, during which U.S. forces were being attacked by Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles and drones. According to the U.S. Air Force, the jets were mistakenly fired upon by Kuwaiti air‑defence units.
All six crew members ejected successfully and were recovered unharmed. They are reported to be in a stable condition. The U.S. Defense Department said an investigation into the exact cause of the incident is underway.
