Video Hearings, English Proceedings, and Open Decision Publication

The Federal Ministry of Justice presented a draft law aimed at modernising Poland’s arbitration procedures. From now on, video negotiations and electronic arbitration awards will be explicitly permitted. The proposal also allows parties to submit English documents to the state courts that handle arbitration and to conduct proceedings in English. Moreover, it seeks to encourage the publication of arbitration rulings.

Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD) said that Germany is already well positioned as a hub for arbitration, but “there is still room for improvement”. She stressed the goal of strengthening Germany’s judicial standing and updating its arbitration framework, with a particular focus on increasing transparency-a key factor in building public acceptance.
