The Volkswagen AG Supervisory Board unanimously approved the management board’s comprehensive “Future Plan” during a meeting on Thursday, the company announced in an ad-hoc disclosure directed at investors.
This extensive plan outlines the “transformation” of the Volkswagen Group. In a statement related to the decision, Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, welcomed the move and stated its intention to continue supporting the transformation efforts of its core holding, Volkswagen AG.
Initially, the precise details of the agreed-upon plan were unclear. Prior to the approval, representatives from the state of Lower Saxony and employee representatives, who are also members of the Supervisory Board, had voiced criticism regarding certain measures under discussion, such as workforce reductions or plant closures.
