VfL Wolfsburg has announced the loan acquisition of Danish midfielder Jesper Lindström for the upcoming season. The agreement, finalized between Wolfsburg and Lindström’s current club, SSC Napoli, was revealed by the Bundesliga side on Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old joins Wolfsburg following a previous loan spell with FC Everton, where he featured in 30 matches across four competitions during the prior season. At Wolfsburg, Lindström will wear the number 19 jersey.
“Jesper has experience in the Bundesliga and at the international level” stated VfL Sporting Director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “With him, we gain a dynamic and very flexible player who can fill virtually any position in the midfield.
Prior to his time at Napoli and Everton, Lindström made a significant impact in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, contributing twelve goals and nine assists in 57 competitive matches. He also played a part in Frankfurt’s Europa League victory in 2022, alongside scoring two scorer points (one goal, one assist) across five DFB-Pokal appearances.
