Zelenskyy Reports Casualties

Ukrainian officials reported a significant escalation of attacks throughout Sunday morning, with President Zelenskyy describing a “combined Russian assault” commencing the previous evening. The assault involved a large number of rockets and combat drones, reportedly exceeding 50 of each.

According to Ukrainian sources, the attacks utilized a range of weaponry including cruise missiles, Shaheds and Kinzhal missiles, impacting regions including Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa and Kirovohrad. President Zelenskyy stated that at least five fatalities and ten injuries had been confirmed as a result of the strikes.

A formal report released by the Ukrainian military command for the preceding 24-hour period detailed an even more extensive pattern of aggression. The report indicated 81 aerial attacks involving 182 guided bombs, accompanied by approximately 4,300 further strikes, including around 100 involving multiple rocket launchers and the sighting of nearly 6,000 kamikaze drones.

Ukrainian military forces responded with rocket and artillery strikes targeting five areas of presumed Russian troop concentration, two command posts and one Russian artillery unit. Claims of Russian losses within the same 24-hour period asserted 870 personnel were eliminated, although the report did not specify whether this figure represents casualties or injuries. No details regarding Ukrainian losses were provided in the official statement.
