Holstein Kiel opened the 30th matchday of the 2. Bundesliga with a 3-0 victory against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Meanwhile, SV Elversberg also defeated Karlsruher SC with a score of 3-0.
During the match in Kiel, the home side took the lead in the 16th minute with a long-range shot from Umut Tohumcu. Phil Harres increased the lead in the 36th minute, and David Zec added the final goal from a corner kick just before halftime in the 40th minute. After the break, Kiel maintained control of the game, barely allowing any attacking chances, while Kaiserslautern could not score despite having some opportunities.
A one-sided match also unfolded in Elversberg. Immanuel Pherai scored the first goal in the 26th minute and added a second in the 53rd minute.
