Insurance Sector in Focus

The German DAX index opened trading on Friday with modest gains. Shortly after 9:30 AM, the index stood at 23,730 points, reflecting a 0.1 percent increase compared to the previous day’s closing value.

Insurance companies experienced heightened demand at the market’s opening, with Hannover Rück and Münchener Rück showing the most significant increases. Allianz, a major DAX constituent, also performed strongly.

The euro strengthened slightly against the US dollar on Friday morning, trading at USD 1.1738. Consequently, the dollar was selling for EUR 0.8519.

Gold prices saw an uptick, fetching USD 3,648 per fine ounce in early trading – an increase of 0.4 percent. This translates to a price of EUR 99.93 per gram.

Conversely, the oil price declined. Brent crude from the North Sea was priced at USD 65.92 around 9:00 AM German time, representing a decrease of 45 cents or 0.7 percent compared to the previous trading day’s closing price.
