The outcome of the recent local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia should serve as a motivator for the governing coalition at the national level, according to Steffen Bilger, parliamentary affairs director for the CDU/CSU group in the Bundestag. In an interview with the “Rheinische Post” Bilger emphasized that addressing specific local issues and actively working towards solutions is recognized and valued by voters.
He underscored that this result represents a mandate for the coalition government’s efforts at the federal level. Prioritized areas for resolution include challenges related to migration, economic growth and social welfare, with a stated aim of effectively countering the rise of extremist political movements.
Bilger also acknowledged the election results as a validation of the dedication and hard work demonstrated by numerous local politicians across North Rhine-Westphalia.
