Negotiations between the Independent Flight Attendants’ Organization (UFO) and Lufthansa Group management concerning a comprehensive labor agreement for cabin crew have concluded without a resolution, UFO announced on Tuesday. The organization cited a “destructive unwillingness” from the management team as the reason for the breakdown.
Joachim Vázquez Bürger, UFO’s chairman, stated that the organization has actively pursued dialogue with the management since March 2024, aiming for a comprehensive solution based on principles of social partnership. He expressed concern that the failed negotiations now threaten well-remunerated jobs and perpetuate “unacceptable working conditions.
Following the cessation of these discussions, UFO is now calling upon the wage negotiation committees of the individual airlines to initiate independent negotiations on behalf of their respective cabin crew. The organization believes this decentralized approach is necessary to address the specific needs and concerns of flight attendants across the Lufthansa Group airlines.
