Rompf Out: DB-Infrago CEO Search Continues

Dirk Rompf will no longer assume the position of CEO for Infrago, Deutsche Bahn’s infrastructure division. The announcement, conveyed in a personal statement released on Thursday and reported by numerous media outlets, marks a significant shift in leadership planning for the company.

Rompf, currently a Managing Director at the strategy consultancy Ifok and a long-standing member of the DB Netz AG board, was only formally introduced as the successor to Philipp Nagl by Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder (CDU) on Monday. His appointment, however, met with substantial opposition from employee representatives.

The decision has been communicated to both Minister Schnieder and the newly appointed CEO of Deutsche Bahn, Evelyn Palla. The future of Philipp Nagl, the current incumbent, remains uncertain. It is unclear whether he will retain his position or if Minister Schnieder will propose an alternative candidate for the leadership role.
