13,000 Roles to Be Eliminated

Bosch, the technology group, has announced a significant restructuring plan involving the elimination of an additional 13,000 positions. The announcement, confirmed by the company on Thursday following initial reporting by Handelsblatt, will primarily impact the automotive supplier division.

The changes involve substantial alterations to several of Bosch’s facilities. The Waiblingen location is reportedly slated for complete closure. In Stuttgart-Feuerbach, approximately 3,500 positions are expected to be cut. Further workforce reductions are planned for sites in Schwieberdingen, Bühl and Homburg.

Bosch attributes this restructuring to prevailing global economic headwinds and substantial investment demands. The company also cited challenges in the rollout of climate protection technologies, including electric mobility and hydrogen technologies, as contributing factors to the need for this adjustment. The move signals a period of realignment within the company as it navigates evolving market conditions and technological shifts.
