The German Federal Cabinet commenced a two-day closed-door session on Tuesday morning at Villa Borsig, situated on the Tegeler See lake near Berlin.
Discussions on the first day were focused on the current state of Germany’s competitiveness. A keynote address was delivered by Markus Brunnermeier, a professor at Princeton University, designed to stimulate debate and provide expert insights. Further perspectives were offered by Grazia Vittadini, representing the Lufthansa Group and Gerd Chrzanowski, from the Schwarz Group, contributing industry-specific viewpoints.
The focus of Wednesday’s agenda includes a presentation by Digitalization Minister Karsten Wildberger regarding the planned “State Modernization” initiative. Following the presentation, a regular Cabinet meeting is scheduled to conclude the session. The retreat aims to foster strategic planning and address key priorities for the German government.
