Munich Police Respond to Possible Shots and House Fire

Law enforcement agencies are currently engaged in a large-scale operation in northern Munich following a fire that broke out in a single-family home.

According to a statement released by the Munich Police Department on Wednesday, initial investigations suggest the residential building was intentionally set ablaze during a domestic dispute. A person found injured at the scene has since been confirmed deceased. Authorities are also currently searching for another individual, although they do not believe this person poses an immediate threat.

The Lerchenauer Straße has been cordoned off by police and the public is being asked to avoid the area. As a precautionary measure, a nearby school has been closed. Firefighters have extinguished the blaze. Reports from the scene indicate that popping sounds were heard, potentially indicative of gunfire, although this is yet to be officially confirmed. Investigations are ongoing.
