German Justice Minister Declares Palantir Unwelcome in Federal Police Data Work

Despite the federal reluctance, some states – most notably Baden-Württemberg – are moving forward with Palantir. A spokesperson from the state interior ministry, led by the Christian‑Democratic Union, confirmed that the police forces will begin using Palantir’s “Gotham” platform mid‑year. A five‑year contract runs through 2030, but officials have described the arrangement as a “transitional solution”. They are also working with partners to develop comparable European software to replace Palantir in the longer term.
