In November 2025, Germany’s service sector saw a calendar‑and‑seasonally adjusted decline of 0.4 % in real terms and 0.3 % in nominal terms compared with October 2025. When compared with the same month a year earlier, the sector’s revenue rose 0.6 % in real terms and 2.5 % nominally, according to provisional data released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Thursday.
The largest one‑month drop occurred in the “other economic services” group – including rentals of movable goods and workforce mediation – which fell 1.4 %. Real‑estate and housing services followed closely, with a 1.3 % decline. Freelance, scientific and technical services, as well as transport and warehousing, experienced slight reductions of 0.4 % and 0.1 % respectively. In contrast, information and communication services posted a modest increase of 0.1 %.
