Police and prosecutors in Dormagen have identified a suspect in the murder of a 14‑year‑old boy. The authorities confirmed on Friday that the suspect is also a child. Because of the suspect’s age and for reasons of personal and youth protection, no further details about the person or the circumstances of the crime will be released.
The boy’s body was found by walkers on a Wednesday afternoon near a lake along Salm‑Reifferscheidt‑Allee. An ambulance was able to confirm the boy’s death at the scene. A murder commission led by the Düsseldorf police headquarters is now conducting the investigation. The post‑mortem examination revealed both stab and slash wounds, which were determined to be the cause of death.
