Hertha BSC secured a clear 3-0 victory over SV Elversberg on matchday 21 of the 2. Bundesliga. In the first half Berlin took the lead when Pascal Klemens headed in a goal. The German side added to the margin in the second half through Luca Schuler and Toni Leistner, while Elversberg had several chances but could not overcome keeper Tjark Ernst.
Meanwhile, FC Schalke 04 and Dynamo Dresden finished their encounter in a 2-2 draw. Edin Džeko gave Schalke an early advantage with two goals, but Dresden fought back. An own goal by Hasan Kurucay and a header from Thomas Keller levelled the score. Schalke’s goalkeeper Loris Karius struggled, conceding both goals.
SC Paderborn edged past 1. FC Nürnberg 2-1. Sebastian Klaas converted a penalty to give the home side the lead, and later Laurin Curda extended it to 2-0. Nürnberg pulled one back through Luka Lochoshvili, but Paderborn maintained their advantage until the final whistle. Nuremberg also had to play a man down after Rafael Lubach received a red card.
