Clinton Accuses Trump of Blocking Release of Epstein Documents

Hillary Clinton accuses President Donald Trump of obstructing the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. “There are good reasons to be suspicious” she told “Der Spiegel”. The former U.S. secretary of state and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, had called for the release of all files on the Epstein case. A law to that effect had been passed by a Republican‑majority Congress and signed by Trump, but Clinton says the administration does everything it can to sidestep the legislation and protect him.

Epstein had systematically abused women and girls for years, yet political, business and academic elites continued to associate with him even after his 2008 conviction. Bill Clinton’s name reappears in the recently published documents, though the former president has no direct connection to the financier.

Clinton denies any close ties between her family and Epstein. “My husband wasn’t close to him” she explained. “He flew on Epstein’s plane a few times to visit charitable projects, and that was years before Epstein was convicted”.

At the same time, Clinton sharply criticises the Trump administration’s Ukraine policy. “What Donald Trump did is disgraceful” she said. “If Ukraine had what it needed-long‑range missiles and well‑supplied air‑defence systems-it could not only stand its ground but force a better outcome in this conflict”.
