Holstein Kiel, the football club competing in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga, has appointed 50‑year‑old Tim Walter as its new head coach. The announcement was made on Tuesday, with the club stating that Walter will succeed Marcel Rapp.
The club hopes that Walter will bring fresh ideas to the team’s current sporting situation. This marks Walter’s second spell with KSV, following his previous tenure during the 2018/19 season. He is scheduled to take charge of the first‑team training session on Wednesday.
Kiel found themselves only 14th in the 2. Bundesliga table after being relegated from the Bundesliga, and they confirmed the separation from Rapp earlier that Tuesday. Rapp had guided the “Storks” for four years, earning promotion to the top tier for the first time in the club’s history during the 2018/19 campaign.
